Joséphine es madre de dos hijas adolescentes, historiadora del siglo XII francés, da clases en la universidad y está terminando su tesis, en el momento en que su vida transcurría con la dulce monotonía del matrimonio, su marido para su sorpresa, la deja por una estilista de su barrio. Ante la sorpresa tiene que empezar a vivir sin el amparo de un marido (Antonie), afrontar el pago de facturas, llevar el coche…dirigir su vida, con el problema añadido de que Antonie había pedido un crédito en su nombre. El principio de la novela te acerca a la vida de Joséphine y su familia, hacia retos que parecían insalvables.
La historia produce rabia, alegría, suspense…, te engancha desde el principio por sus personajes y las relaciones familiares entre ellos, muy identificables hoy en día. Ensalza los valores del esfuerzo para la consecución del objetivo en la vida.

Hopeless at first on the novel, later she is getting to manage her life and navigate these extraordinarily difficult circumstances.
